Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held a series of meetings with foreign officials in New York on Tuesday, including with Norwegian FM Borge Brende, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and leaders of several Balkan states.

Vucic met with Brende and Stoltenberg shortly before the start of a UN General Assembly meeting.

Vucic meets with PMs of Norway, Sweden, president of Romania

NEW YORK – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met in New York on Tuesday with Norwegian and Swedish PMs Erna Solberg and Stefan Lofven and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

Vucic and Solberg discussed bilateral ties, economic cooperation and Serbia’s European path.

Vucic meets with Russian, Austrian FMs at UN headquarters

NEW YORK – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held separate meetings with Russian and Austrian FMs Sergey Lavrov and Sebastian Kurz at the UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday.

Vucic, who is in New York for the 72nd UN General Assembly meeting, also had several bilateral and other meetings with international and European officials earlier in the day, as well as with officials from the Balkan region.

“I spoke with Boris Johnson about marking the 180th anniversary of diplomatic relations at the Foreign Office, with Miroslav Lajcak about Kosovo’s potential bid for observer status in the UN, and to US President Donald Trump, whom I met four years ago, I brought photocopies of the front pages carried by each of our newspapers when he was elected,” Dacic told Tanjug.

IMF projects 2.3 pct growth for Serbia in 2017

Economic activity in Serbia continues to expand, notwithstanding a temporary slowdown in the first half of the year, and the International Monetary Fund projects growth of 2.3 pct in 2017, IMF mission head James Roaf said Tuesday.

BELGRADE – Economic activity in Serbia continues to expand, notwithstanding a temporary slowdown in the first half of the year, and the International Monetary Fund projects growth of 2.3 pct in 2017, IMF mission head James Roaf said Tuesday.

The slowdown was “largely reflecting disruptions in electricity production and the negative impact of the drought on agricultural output. Domestic demand growth is robust, with continued recovery of private consumption and strong foreign direct investment,” Roaf noted in an end-of-mission press release following a visit to Belgrade.

Predstavnici inđijske opštine gosti Festivala

Delegacija Opštine Inđija predvođena predsednikom Opštine Vladimirom Gakom boravi u Istri i Puli. Razlog odlaska sremske delegacije u Hrvatsku je učešće na 9. Festivalu srpske kulture u Istri koji se održava od 20. do 26. aprila.
U okviru posete Festivalu, delegaciju Opštine Inđija, sa kojom su umetnici i književnici iz tog sremskog grada, primili su gradonačelnik Pule Boris Miletić i istarski župan Valter Flego.
Tom prilikom gradonačelnik Pule upoznao je prisutne sa bogatom i burnom istorijom grada, za koju kaže da je zaslužna što danas u Puli živi tako veliki broj raznih nacionalnih manjina.
Ovogodišnji Festival srpske kulture u Istri posvećen je velikoj spisateljici Isidori Sekulić, povodom 140 godina od njenog rođenja. Njoj u čast su 20. aprila, na samom otvaranju Festivala, glumci iz umetničke grupe „Art Frakcija“ iz Beograda izveli dramski prikaz „Život i delo“.
Organizator Festivala je Klub Srba Istarske županije, partner je Opština Inđija i Matica Srba iz Beograda, a pokrovitelji su Grad Pula i Istarska županija.
