Uzbekistan Airways, the flagship airline of Uzbekistan has taken delivery of its first A320neo, confirming the success of the A320 Family in Central Asia. The event took place on March 8 in Hamburg with Gennadiy Kharlap Deputy Director General of Uzbekistan Airways and Kimon Sotiropoulos, Vice President Central and Northern Europe, Russia & CIS Airbus.

The aircraft, acquired through a leasing contract with BOC is part of an order for two aircraft, featuring a two class cabin with 12 premium and 138 economy seats. The aircraft is powered by CFM Leap 1A engines.

Uzbekistan Airways became the first airline in 1996 in a CIS country to operate a Western built aircraft. The A320neo, renowned for its unbeatable fuel efficiency, will join the airline’s fleet of ten A320ceo operated since 2010, across a network in Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia.

The A320neo and its derivative aircraft family members are the world’s best-selling single aisle aircraft with over 6,500 orders from over 100 customers. It has pioneered and incorporated the latest technologies, including its new generation engines and the industry’s reference cabin design, delivering 20 percent fuel cost savings alone. easyJet orders additional 17 A320neo

Airbus has reached an agreement with easyJet that extends the airline’s fleet plans into 2023, exercising purchase rights to firm orders for 17 A320neo. This takes its combined order for the NEO to 147 (including 30 A321neo) and means easyJet has ordered 468 A320 Family aircraft  to date.

“This repeat order cements easyJet’s position as the largest European operator of our leading A320 family,” says Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer. “We are delighted that our aircraft keep contributing to easyJet’s ongoing success.”

The aircraft are configured with 186 seats in a single class configuration and powered by CFM International LEAP engines.

easyJet currently operates a fleet of 316 A320 Family including 17 A320neo and three A321neo, making it the world’s largest airline operator of Airbus’ single aisle aircraft. easyJet serves over 130 European airports in some 31 countries operating over 1,000 routes.

The A320neo family is the world’s best-selling single aisle aircraft with more than 6,200 orders from over 100 customers since its launch in 2010. It incorporates latest technologies including new generation engines and Sharklet wing tip devices, which together deliver more than 15% in fuel savings from day one and 20% by 2020 with further cabin innovations. SaudiGulf Airlines to add ten A320neo family aircraft

Bahrain, 15th November, 2018 – Al-Qahtani Aviation, owner of SaudiGulf Airlines, has signed an agreement to purchase ten A320neo family aircraft. The commitment was announced today at the Bahrain International Airshow, which runs until the 16th November 2018.

SaudiGulf Airlines currently operate a fleet of six A320 aircraft from their hub in Dammam. The carrier commenced operations in 2016 serving domestic destinations across the Kingdom prior to expanding to international routes. In October 2018 the airline launched its second international destination with flights to four destinations in Pakistan.

Sheikh Tariq Abdulhadi Al Qahtani, Chairman of Al-Qahtani Aviation and SaudiGulf Airlines, said: “As a premium service boutique airline we are excited to be adding the A320neo to our fleet. This expansion is in keeping with our intention to see the Saudi aviation sector continue to develop and grow in support of the Saudi Vision 2030.”

Flynas becomes first Saudi carrier to receive the A320neo

First A320neo Flynas Delivery

Toulouse, 13 November 2018 – Flynas, Saudi Arabia’s first low-cost airline, has begun taking delivery of its first of 80 A320neo Family aircraft. This follows an agreement signed in January 2017, with deliveries scheduled to take place from 2018 to 2026.

Flynas is the first operator in Saudi Arabia to acquire the A320neo and currently operates a fleet of 30 A320ceos. The A320neo, powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, will support Flynas’ expansion plans while providing greater operational efficiency and passenger comfort.

Saudi Arabia is the largest domestic aviation market in the Middle East. Since its inception in 2007, Flynas has set ambitious growth plans that continuously develop its fleet in order to carry more passengers. In 2017, the airline carried more than 6.4 million passengers and over 3 million passengers during the first half of 2018.

Gulf Air becomes the first national carrier to fly the A320neo in the region

A320neo Gulf Air Take Off

Gulf Air, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, took delivery of its first A320neo today. The aircraft, powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, made its maiden journey from Toulouse to Bahrain, landing at the Bahrain International Airport at 16:00 local time.

The aircraft is the first of the 29 A320neo Family aircraft ordered during the 2016 Bahrain International Airshow. This delivery also makes Gulf Air the first Middle Eastern national carrier to fly the A320neo.

Gulf Air currently operates 28 Airbus aircraft. The new addition complements the airline’s existing fleet and thanks to Airbus’ overall fleet commonality, the airline will benefit from low operating costs, optimum fuel efficiency and seamless, best-in-class passenger comfort of any single aisle aircraft.

Chilean low cost carrier and all-Airbus operator Sky Airline has taken delivery of its first A320neo aircraft, on lease from ALC (NYSE: AL), at a delivery ceremony in Toulouse. Sky Airline’s A320neo is powered by CFM Leap1A engines and has a capacity of 186 passengers, incorporating innovative Space Flex features.

This new A320neo joins Sky Airline’s existing fleet of 15 A320 Family aircraft, and is the first of 21 A320neos to be leased by the airline.

The A320neo Family is the aircraft of choice for airlines in Latin America, capturing 680 orders and commitments from lessors and nine customers, representing over 70 percent of orders in the new generation single-aisle aircraft market.

Lufthansa Group expands A320neo fleet #TerçaDetremuraSDV

Orders additional 24 A320neo and three A321neo

Lufthansa Group has converted 27 A320neo Family options into firm orders. Following a decision by the company’s supervisory board, the Group signed for an additional 24 Airbus A320neo and three A321neo aircraft. Ten of the aircraft will be deployed with Lufthansa Group’s Swiss International Air Lines. Part of the order will be powered by PW engines and the other by CFM LEAP-1A, so both engine types are represented nearly equally within the Lufthansa Group.

The latest agreement brings Lufthansa Group’s total order for the A320neo Family to 149 (101 A320neo and 48 A321neo) with 13 already in operation. Lufthansa was the launch operator of the A320neo.

Bringing new levels of efficiency for the carrier’s regional network

Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) has taken delivery of its first A320neo aircraft during an event in Toulouse, France attended by Karam Chand, RBA Chief Executive Officer: Her Excellency Datin Paduka Malai Hajah Halimah binti Malai Haji Yussof, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to France; and Eric Schulz, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer.

The aircraft is the first of seven A320neo ordered by the airline under its single aisle fleet renewal programme. Powered by CFM International LEAP-1A26 engines, the new aircraft features a premium three class layout with 12 business class seats, 18 economy plus and 120 in the main cabin. The airline will operate the aircraft on its extensive regional network.

Royal Brunei has been flying A320 Family aircraft since 2003 and currently operates a fleet of six A320ceo jets.

AerCap boosts A320neo portfolio by 50 aircraft

A320neo Fleet rises to 270 aircraft

Leading aircraft lessor AerCap holdings N.V. (“AerCap”) (NYSE: AER) has upped its A320neo portfolio after signing a firm agreement to buy 50 additional aircraft. This transaction brings AerCap’s firm orders for the A320neo Family aircraft to a total of 270, owned and on order.

Airbus, Indigo Partners finalize orders for 430 A320neo Family aircraft

Airbus’ largest single order announcement becomes firm

Deal valued at nearly $50 billion, at list prices

Airbus announced today that it had finalized agreements with Indigo Partners and its four portfolio airlines for the purchase of 430 additional A320neo Family aircraft for ultra-low-cost airlines Frontier Airlines (United States), JetSMART (Chile), Volaris (Mexico) and Wizz Air (Hungary).  The signed purchase agreement follows a Memorandum of Understanding among the parties announced at the Dubai Air Show last month.

The 430-aircraft order is made up of 274 A320neos and 156 A321neos worth $49.5 billion at list prices. Airlines in the Indigo Partners family had previously placed orders for a total of 427 A320 Family aircraft.

“These customer-friendly and efficient A320neo Family aircraft form a great platform for continued growth for our family of ultra-low-cost airlines,” said Bill Franke, Managing Partner of Indigo Partners. “The Indigo Partners team looks forward to creating even more value for even more passengers around the world with these modern and efficient aircraft.”

  • Volaris – 46 A320neo, 34 A321neo

Indigo Partners’ Franke indicated that engine selections will be made at a later date.

The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies, including new generation engines and Sharklet wing-tip devices, which together will deliver 20 percent fuel savings by 2020.  With more than 5,800 orders received from 98 customers since its launch in 2010, the A320neo Family has captured some 60 percent market share.
