Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On November 21, 2018, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilhomjon Nematov met with the UN Under-Secretary-General, Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva Michael Møller.
Møller arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the Asian Forum on Human Rights, which will be held in Samarkand on 22 November.
The parties discussed the current issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, prospects of their development. It was noted that profound political and economic changes in Uzbekistan create new conditions for strengthening cooperation.
The UN representative welcomed regional policy promoted by Uzbekistan, which is paying main attention to development of political, trade-economic, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian ties with neighboring countries.
The sides also considered practical aspects of the forthcoming joint activities.
