Healthcare practitioners are requested to report any side effects that may result from consuming these products.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention of UAE has ordered that all dairy products manufactured by French multinational food company Lactalis, packaged at Craon factories, be immediately removed from the shelves of all supermarkets.

This is in light of there being potential salmonella contamination in the packaged food products, an Al Bayan report said.

The ministry requested the authorised agent of the company to withdraw all dairy products from Abu Dhabi’s markets and pharmacies.

Healthcare practitioners are requested to report any side effects that may result from consuming these products.

Since December 2017, the company has been forced to recall more than 12 million powdered milk bottles from nearly 83 countries because of fears of possible salmonella contamination.

Tens of children were reported taking ill after using the dairy products produced by the Craon factory.

Lactalis CEO Emmanuel Besnier said earlier this month that Lactalis could have been producing salmonella-tainted baby milk at the factory in Craon since 2005. He said the crisis was likely to cost the company hundreds of millions of euros.
