Globo, Fox e Sportv vão transmitir sorteio da Copa da Rússia

Globo, Fox e SporTV já têm confirmadas a transmissão do sorteio dos grupos da Copa da Rússia, em 1º de dezembro, no Kremlin. Tite e Edu Gastar, líderes da comissão técnica brasileira, estarão presentes ao evento. O sorteio vai acontecer dois dias depois do encerramento da “Libertadores”. Olhos do mundo lá.

Considerado por muitos o principal evento esportivo do planeta, a Copa do Mundo vai acontecer entre 14 de junho e 15 de julho de 2018.

Ainda no campo esportivo, dirigentes da Federação Internacional de Vôlei, trabalhando ao lado da empresa de marketing esportivo IMG, estão em pleno giro brasileiro.

E muito por causa do novo pacote que será oferecido ao mercado, envolvendo mundiais, masculino e feminino, e as superligas. Conversas com emissoras da aberta e cabo. Estão por aqui desde a semana passada.

Egypt parliament to discuss new bill on elections within one month

Egyptian House of Representatives speaker Ali Abel Aal said Tuesday that the parliament will discuss a new bill on elections within the coming month.

Abel Aal did not elaborate on the new law, and whether it addresses presidential, parliamentary, or municipalities elections.

He warned MPs against not attending the scheduled sessions adding that he would order the break lounges of the parliament to be closed as well as closing the doors of the main hall during discussing the bill’s articles.

“The cost for not coming will be very heavy,” he said.

First Egyptian woman elected mayor of Canadian city of Brossard

Egyptian Dourine Assaad, an immigrant to Canada, was on Monday elected mayor of Brossard city of Quebec after defeating her main rival and former head of the city, Mayor Paul Leduc.

According to Canadian media reports, Assaad, a mathematician and businesswoman, was a Brossard Party candidate, and was elected with 39 percent of the vote.

Assaad is the first woman in 30 years to be appointed mayor in Brossard city.

Having graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer of Montreal University, Assaad served as councilor of Brossard city in 2009.

Assaad becomes the first Egyptian expatriate who has assumed such a high-profile post in Canada.

Assaad, a resident of the city for nearly fifteen years, is aiming to focus on the construction of Brossard City Hall, in addition to introducing a new participatory budget.

Along with the United Stated and Australia, Canada is among the countries that many Egyptians seek to migrate to. Asylum to Canada requires entry to the country through a tourism or study visa, or proof of religious or political persecution.
