Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk believes that Kyiv may receive another loan tranche from the International Monetary Fund by the end of 2017, according to RFE/RL’s Ukrainian service.
REUTERS “We are expecting a tranche before the end of the year,” Danyliuk told a briefing in Washington on October 15, following the talks with the IMF leadership, RFE/RL’s Ukrainian service reports. The minister noted that a final decision would depend on gas price arrangements for households. Certain progress was made in this regard during the talks. However, no specific agreements yet concluded, the official said. “We have advanced and set out certain principles. Negotiations are under way,” Danyliuk added. The IMF has not yet commented on the outcome of the talks. It was reported earlier that Ukraine would propose to the IMF a new gas price formula for households, leaving tariffs unchanged until July 2018.
