Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on improving activities of internal affairs bodies in the field of migration processes and citizenship.
On 11 July 2017, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the resolution “On measures to radically improve activities of internal affairs bodies in the sphere of migration processes and registration of citizenship”.
According to the decree, Uzbekistan will introduce an electronic system for providing public services and regulating admission of citizens on issues of passport system in a contactless form of interaction in work of migration and citizenship units.
The new system will be implemented from 1 May 2018. The introduction of the system will simplify procedure for issuing biometric documents, reviewing and processing documents for traveling abroad, obtaining a permanent and temporary residence permit, registering at the place of stay, and providing address and reference information.
The President instructed till 1 February 2018 to formulate proposals for opening of representative offices of the competent authorities of Uzbekistan in the sphere of migration in foreign states, mainly in those where are large number of Uzbek citizens.
The state bodies will also work out issue of simplifying procedure for registration and obtaining a work permit in foreign countries.
