As the regional tension between Qatar and brotherly countries simmer after Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and few other nations cut diplomatic and travel ties, a number of world leaders including ministers and diplomats held conversations with Qatar Foreign Minister and ambassadors placed in various countries.
HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Thursday held via telephone conversations with Foreign Minister of Singapore Vivian Balakrishnan and Foreign Minister of Italy Angelino Alfano.
HE Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani held a telephone conversation on Thursday with Kenyan Foreign Minister Amina Mohamed.
During the call, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in addition to the recent developments among GCC member states.
HE Indonesia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi met here on Thursday with HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Indonesia Ahmed bin Jassim Al Hamar.
President of Indonesia’s Special Envoy for Middle East and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Alwi Shihab also met, separately with HE the Qatari Ambassador.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs on the James Appathurai met here on Thursday with HE Qatar’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi.
French president’s diplomatic adviser, Philippe Etienne, on Thursday met HE Qatar’s Ambassador to France Khalid bin Rashid Al Mansouri.
Hjayceelyn Quintana, Philippine’s assistant secretary of the foreign minister for Middle Eastern and African affairs, met on Thursday with HE Qatar’s Ambassador to the Philippines Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki.
Richard Clarke, director of foreign affairs at the British Home Office, met on Thursday with HE Qatar’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Yousef bin Ali Al Khater.
Sri Lanka’s Parliament Speaker Karu Jayasuriya met Thursday with HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Rashid bin Shafie Al Merri.
