Caltex Socceroos fullback Alex Gersbach made it three wins from three starts in Norway as leaders Rosenborg continued their perfect opening against Molde.

The 19-year-old, an ever-present for the reigning champions, played 80 minutes in front of over 20,000 spectators at Lerkendal Stadion as the hosts won 2-1 against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Two goals in the opening 10 minutes did the job for Rosenborg, although an own goal from enigmatic former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner did give the visitors hope of a comeback.

Instead, the home side saw out the remainder of the match to register their third win on the trot following consecutive 3-0 victories in the opening two rounds.

Former Sydney FC left-back Gersbach has started each game in a big boost to his hopes of breaking back into Ange Postecoglou’s Caltex Socceroos squad.

Rosenborg’s next assignment in the top tier Eliteserien is away to 13th-placed Viking on Wednesday morning (AEST).

Caltex Socceroos playmaker Tom Rogic built on his encouraging return from injury with another 18 minutes in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

In the Eredivisie, AFC Asian Cup winner Jason Davidson played from start to finish in Groningen’s 4-3 defeat away to ADO Den Haag while teammate Ajdin Hrustic and NEC Nijmegen’s Stefan Mauk both remained on the bench.
