David Carney produced a stunning two-goal cameo to fire Sydney FC to a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night. Introduced on the hour, the former Caltex Socceroos winger immediately cancelled out Mitch Austin’s opener before netting a late winner to preserve Sydney’s perfect record. Victory dominated the first-half and earned a deserved lead through Austin just prior to half-time after Besart Berisha earlier fluffed a penalty. Despite conceding their first goal of the season, the Sky Blues regrouped at half-time to make it five straight victories courtesy of Carney’s brace.
