A MAN is in a critical condition after jumping out of a moving car in Darwin’s northern suburbs this morning.
The 26-year old was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Darwin Hospital about 4.30am after he jumped out of the back of a car that was driving outbound near the corner of Vanderlin Drive and Lee Point Rd.
When he jumped from the car, he hit his head at the roundabout.
He remains in a coma with serious head injuries.
The driver of the car, a 25-year-old woman, was the sober driver.
Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen said police were investigating the matter but it does not appear that there were any suspicious circumstances.
“Obviously if anyone witnessed the incident we’d like them to come forward with any information,” she said.
