Já era começo de noite deste sábado, 10/10, quando o ônibus da delegação venezuelana cruzou a Av. João Pessoa com destino à sede do Ceará Sporting Club. O treino no Estádio Carlos de Alencar Pinto (Vovozão) começou às 18h15min e durou pouco mais de duas horas. Após alguns trabalhos de posse de bola, o técnico Noel Bethelmy comandou um treino secreto. A programação faz parte da preparação da Venezuela para a segunda partida nas eliminatórias sul-americanas para a Copa do Mundo FIFA 2018. No primeiro jogo, em casa, a equipe perdeu para o Paraguai. Na próxima terça-feira, 12/10, os venezuelanos enfrentam o Brasil, às 22 horas, na Arena Castelão.
Nunca na história do Alvinegro, uma seleção havia treinado nos gramados de Porangabuçu. Na ocasião inédita, o Diretor Social Haendel Vieira presenteou membros da comissão técnica venezuelana com uniformes, livro e revista oficiais do Ceará. Com exclusividade, o CearaSC.com conversou com o coordenador geral da seleção bolivariana, Napoleon Centeno. “Queria agradecer ao Ceará pela atenção e pela acolhida à seleção da Venezuela. A equipe trabalhou cômoda e tranquila. O técnico fez o trabalho que queria e o nosso jogador que estava machucado [Jeffrén Suárez] pôde recuperar-se aqui. Eu estive aqui no jogo do Ceará contra o Bahia, no Castelão, e tomei carinho pelo clube. Agora, todo dia, procuro na imprensa notícias sobre o Ceará”, revelou Centeno.
Além do campo do Estádio Vovozão, a academia do clube também foi utilizada pela comitiva da Venezuela. A programação de treinos e horários não foram divulgados oficialmente pela Federação Venezuelana de Futebol (FVF), mas a equipe deve realizar outro treinamento neste domingo, 11/10, e um reconhecimento de campo na segunda-feira, 12/10, na Arena Castelão.
