A television reporter has maintained her composure as a live cross was interrupted on Friday by a man fighting arrest.

Channel Nine reporter Aislin Kriukelis was outside police headquarters in Roma Street, Brisbane, updating the Today show’s 7.30am news bulletin on the suspension of two Queensland police officers when the camera caught police arresting the man.

While officers had the man restrained, he yelled in the direction of the reporter as two police officers dragged him close behind her.

She kept her cool as the man was filmed being led away.

“They are clearly arresting someone here, Sylvia, so we will find out what’s happening,” she told newsreader Sylvia Jeffreys.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the man had gone to headquarters early on Friday and became agitated in the foyer.

When he could not be placated, police officers moved to escort him around the corner to the watch house.

The spokeswoman said the officers were unaware the live cross was taking place.

The cause of the man’s outburst was unknown, she said.

The man was charged with public nuisance and obstructing police.
