Hannover verpasst Klubrekord

 

Hannover 96 hat den angestrebten Klubrekord verpasst und erstmals in der laufenden Saison der Bundesliga zu Hause Punkte liegen lassen. Die Mannschaft von Trainer Mirko Slomka kam nach zuletzt vier Heimsiegen in Serie am achten Spieltag im Verfolgerduell der Bundesliga gegen Hertha BSC nach einer schwachen zweiten Halbzeit nicht über ein 1:1 (1:0) hinaus. Christian Schulz (23.) hatte für zunächst überlegene Hannoveraner getroffen, der eine Minute zuvor eingewechselte Ronny sorgte jedoch mit einem fulminanten Freistoß-Treffer (81.) für den Berliner Punktgewinn.

Mit einem fünften Heimsieg in Serie zum Ligaauftakt hätten die Niedersachsen eine Vereinsbestmarke aufgestellt. Durch das Remis verteidigten die Roten aber dennoch Platz vier in der Tabelle erfolgreich (13 Punkte), der Aufsteiger aus der Hauptstadt bleibt mit einem Zähler weniger Fünfter. Weiterer Wehrmutstropfen für 96: Didier Ya Konan verletzte sich kurz vor dem Halbzeitpfiff offenbar schwer am linken Sprunggelenk und musste ausgewechselt werden. Noch während die Partie lief, war er auf dem Weg ins Krankenhaus.

“Wir müssen die Kirche im Dorf lassen. Wir kommen aus der zweiten Liga und haben bei einer sehr heimstarken Mannschaft ein Klasse-Spiel gemacht”, sagte Hertha-Manager Michael Preetz: “Aber aufgrund der Spielanteile und des Chancenverhältnisses hätten wir aber durchaus auch gewinnen können.” Den Freistoß-Treffer von Ronny, der den Ball mit 119 km/h ins Tor des machtlosen Ron-Robert Zieler hämmerte, nannte Preetz am Sky-Mikrofon einen “Kanonenschlag”. Hannovers Torschütze Christian Schulz war dagegen enttäuscht: “Wir haben es in der zweiten Halbzeit nicht mehr gut gemacht. Wir waren aber auch geschockt von Ya Konans Verletzung. Das 1:1 war gerechtfertigt.”

Europäischer Wettbewerb als Ziel
Vor der Partie hatte Klub-Chef Martin Kind sein Team unter Erfolgsdruck gesetzt und seine Forderung wiederholt: Das Erreichen der UEFA Europa League ist Pflicht, insgeheim hofft der Präsident sogar auf die Teilnahme an der weitaus lukrativeren UEFA Champions League. “Platz drei ist mutig und provokativ, aber Rang sechs ist realistisch, und den möchte ich schon gerne erreichen”, sagte Kind.

Hannover war von Beginn an das engagiertere Team, konnte aus dem Übergewicht aber zunächst keinen Ertrag erzielen – zu häufig wurde der letzte Pass in die Spitze zu ungenau gespielt. Folgerichtig fiel die Führung nach einer Standardsituation, nachdem der Ball eher zufällig vor die Füße von Schulz geprallt war. Der 30 Jahre alte Routinier wuchtete den Ball von der Strafraumgrenze unhaltbar für Thomas Kraft ins Tor. Zudem hatte Artur Sobiech (31.) noch eine gute Möglichkeit für die Gastgeber.

Hertha versuchte, defensiv gut zu stehen und die Räume für die konterstarken 96er eng zu machen. Nach Ballgewinnen und schnellem Umschalten setzten die Berliner dann ihrerseits Nadelstiche in Richtung des Tores von Nationalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler. Hajime Hosogai (19.) mit einem Fernschuss und Sami Allagui (20.) hatten gute Möglichkeiten.

In der zweiten Hälfte verflachte die ohnehin nicht hochklassige Partie dann zusehends. Einzig ein nicht geahndetes Handspiel von Johannes van den Bergh erhitzte zunächst die Gemüter. Nach dem ersten gelungen Angriff vergab dann Änis Ben-Hatira die große Chance zum Ausgleich, sein Schuss aus acht Metern prallte vom rechten Pfosten zurück ins Spielfeld (58.). Danach plätscherte die Partie wieder vor sich hin: Hannover wollte nicht mehr konsequent nach vorne spielen, der Hertha fehlten die Mittel, um 96 noch einmal in Verlegenheit zu bringen. Doch Ronny half und erzielte Herthas fünftes Jokertor in dieser Saison. Kurz vor dem Ende entschärfte Kraft einen Sobiech-Kopfball mit einer Glanzparade (89.).

Bei Hannover überzeugten Christian Schulz und Szabolcs Huszti, die Berliner hatten in Nico Schulz ihren Besten.

 

Villarreal se afianza en zona de privilegio

 

 

El Villarreal se impuso con solvencia al Granada por 3-0 y se afianza en zona de Liga de Campeones gracias a los goles de Bruno, Giovani y Pina que confirmaron la superioridad del conjunto castellonense a lo largo de los 90 minutos.

La primera gran ocasión del encuentro llegó en el minuto 22, justo cuando un pase interior por alto de Bruno fue devuelto al corazón del área por Mario para que Jonathan Pereira no llegara por poco al balón cuando tan sólo tenía que empujarlo a la red.

Era el preludio del 1-0, que llegó cuando se cumplía la media hora de juego. Cani se escapó por la banda izquierda y colocó un centro raso hacia la frontal del área para que Bruno conectara un zurdazo inapelable ante el que nada pudo hacer Roberto.

Con ventaja en el marcador, el Villarreal se dedicó a defenderse con orden y así salir con mucho peligro al contragolpe. Por su parte, el Granada lo intentaba una vez tras otra, pero siempre se topaba con la bien plantada zaga castellonense e incluso en una ocasión con Asenjo, que abortó una internada por línea de fondo de Brahimi.

El Villarreal amplió su ventaja nada más iniciarse el segundo periodo. Jonathan Pereira se escapó por velocidad por banda izquierda y colocó un preciso centro a media altura que fue rematado por Giovani dos Santos, en posición acrobática, para batir a Roberto (min. 48).

Lucas Alcaraz movió el banquillo poco después y el Granada reaccionó. La entrada al campo de Riki e Ighalo dio más movilidad al conjunto andaluz, que pudo recortar distancias con dos disparos que salieron rozando la madera de los recién incorporados.

El conjunto castellonense sentenció definitivamente el encuentro a falta de diez minutos para el final. De nuevo Cani, muy activo durante todo el duelo, centró bombeado y Pina, llegando desde atrás, conectó un testarazo que entró en la portería pese al intento desesperado por pararlo del guardameta del Granada.

Osasuna de Pamplona consiguió la primera victoria a domicilio de la temporada con un gol del delantero Oriol Riera en La Rosaleda frente a un Málaga sin ideas, espeso, timorato y con muchos problemas de creación y de definición, al no tener una ocasión clara en todo el partido.

El equipo malagueño, inédito, sufrió mucho durante la primera parte. Osasuna, muy bien posicionado, tapando las opciones de ataque de los malaguistas, hizo tambalearse a la línea defensa de los, locales, que tenían escasas opciones para mostrar su superioridad ante un conjunto navarro con pocos errores.

El Osasuna fue el equipo que más ocasiones tuvo durante los primeros cuarenta y cinco minutos. El delantero Oriol Riera avisó nada más comenzar el encuentro con un lanzamiento que frenó el guardameta argentino Willy Caballero. El Málaga sufría, no tenía el balón, lo maltrataba y encima lo dañaba y lo daba al contrario.

El técnico malaguista, el alemán Bernd Schuster, hizo dos cambios al descanso: el delantero holandés El Hamadaoui salió por Morales y Pawlowski por Duda. No había otra opción para intentar la remontada.

Era complicado. Osasuna seguía a su ritmo, controlando el partido ante un Málaga superior, pero sin pegada, con errores, precipitación y una sintonía complicada para doblegar a un equipo con problemas, pero muy bien plantado, con un planteamiento defensivo, aunque bien estructurado y sin fisuras.

El segundo tiempo fue un monólogo del Málaga contra una pared del Osasuna, que no se acercó a la portería del Málaga en los cincuenta minutos que duró el segundo asalto. El conjunto malagueño, muy obtuso, sin ideas y con problemas a la hora de la creación, se encontró con un frontón bien definido y sin fisuras.

Primer triunfo de Osasuna como visitante y segunda derrota como local del Málaga, que corta una racha de cinco partidos sin perder.

Preliminary details for the sale of tickets for the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2013 have been announced, with VISA exclusive pre-sales beginning on Monday 14 October.

The online pre-sale, exclusive to VISA cardholders, begins on Monday 14 October and will run until Sunday 27 October. This will be for all categories, including the Category 3 reserved for Morocco residents.

The open sales phase, for all other payment cards, will begin on Monday 28 October, and will again include all ticket categories.

For those wishing to purchase tickets in person, the Local Sales Stations will open in Morocco in November right up until the first match day. Public Ticket Sales Counters will be located at the Agadir Stadum, the Marrakech Stadium and at other locations to be confirmed in Morocco.

Pregnant asylum seekers to give birth on Nauru

Pregnant asylum seekers will give birth in Nauru for the first time since 2004 under the Abbott government’s ”no exemptions” approach to offshore detention.

Fairfax Media has learned a woman carrying twins is one of the first asylum seekers since the Howard era to face the prospect of giving birth in the tiny island republic.

If you did this to women in this country there would be uproar.

Refugee advocates are seeking details about the woman, who is said to be 22 weeks’ pregnant and arrived on Nauru last Friday, according to sources on the island.

Of six pregnant women transferred from detention on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea by Labor earlier in the year, three miscarried.

A section of Nauru’s only hospital burned down in August and medical experts and campaigners say there is no proof that conditions for mothers and babies are adequate in an environment where detainees live in tents in temperatures of 40 degrees celsius and above.

”This is a dangerous shift in policy,” said Kon Karapanagiotidis of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. ”[Immigration Minister] Scott Morrison is saying there is now no exceptions. It’s a dereliction of his duty of care as minister.

”If you did this to women in this country there would be uproar. The minister is saying people will be sent offshore without exception just to fulfil a political slogan.”

In July, Fairfax revealed confidential advice to government from International Health and Medical Services, which operates throughout the detention network, that pregnant women on Manus had an increased risk of death, stillbirth, miscarriage and low birth weight babies.

In PNG the infant mortality rate for children under five is 60 in 1000 and in Nauru it is 37. By comparison, just five of every 1000 children die in Australia.

Professor Nick Talley, president-elect of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, said: ”It might sound just like numbers but these are dramatically different situations, really significant.”

Professor Talley said there was also ”serious concern” among medicos about the government’s accelerated health checks before boat arrivals were dispatched from Christmas Island to Manus and Nauru.

The 48-hour turnarounds now in place had effectively ended screening for Hepatitis B, typhoid, tuberculosis, HIV and syphilis, he said.

”Those tests are not going to come back within 48 hours. That means these people won’t have been screened.”

The 12-member Detention Health Advisory Group, of which the college is a part, has not been consulted by the Coalition government on changes.

Mr Morrison, who visited Manus Island last week, also plans to travel to Nauru next week – his first trip to the island nation as Minister.

The Immigration Minister would not provide any detail of any planning for births on Nauru but in a statement did not resile from sending pregnant women there.

”The government’s policy is to provide no exemptions for offshore processing for those who have arrived illegally by boat,” he said.

”The previous government sent very few people to Manus Island and Nauru for offshore processing because they didn’t really believe in it. The difference between the Coalition government and Labor is that the Coalition is actually implementing offshore processing properly.”

Mr Morrison’s office rebuffed calls from the former immigration minister Tony Burke to release advice from the health advisory group about the health screening process for asylum seekers.

Mr Burke said he was told repeatedly that it would take a minimum of 10 to 12 days to all the necessary health checks.

Anger erupts in court over killer’s sentence

 

Angry scenes erupted in court today after a murderer who slashed a young mother’s throat was told he could be out of jail in just 10 years.

Mental health outpatient Paul Gottermeyer had already been sentenced to life imprisonment for what a judge described as a “horrible attack of the utmost gravity”.

On July 11 last year he knifed the woman to death in her Christchurch home before her 3-year-old daughter found her lying in a pool of blood.

“Mummy did bleed everywhere …. and mummy scream,” she told police.

The girl now suffers night terrors as she relives the ordeal.

It wasn’t until today at the High Court in Christchurch that the 30-year old market gardener from Kaiapoi was told that his minimum non-parole period will be 10 years.

In reaching his decision, Justice John Fogarty said: “I know it’s not going to be popular with the family.”

The public gallery, with about 30 family members and friends of the murdered 24-year-old, were disgusted by the decision.

“It’s an injustice,” shouted one woman.

“If that was your daughter…” said another.

The disbelief soon turned to anger directed at Gottermeyer standing in the dock.

“You’re a murderer!” shouted one woman.

“You dirty, filthy rotten bastard, I hope you die,” screamed another.

Security cleared the court while further outbursts were directed at defence counsel Tony Greig.

Women wailed and the family hugged outside court.

Justice Fogarty reached his conclusion based on the expert opinion of three consultant forensic psychiatrists.

Gottermeyer was an outpatient at Hillmorton psychiatric hospital and all of the experts concluded that he had been suffering from severe depression.

But they said it was difficult to say how severe his depression was at the time of the killing, or how much blame for what happened could be apportioned to his depression.

Canterbury DHB consultant forensic psychiatrist Dr Helen Austin said it was impossible to say whether Gottermeyer would have killed if he wasn’t depressed.

“Depression is one of many factors that played a part. Human behaviour is very complex and driven by many different factors,” she said.

“Depression is an incredibly common mental illness … and on the other hand, homicide is a very rare event.”

Dr David Chaplow agreed.

However, defence witness Philip Brinded, associate professor of psychiatry, concluded “but for the depression the homicide may not have occurred”.

“I believe the symptoms of depression and the way depression changes a person’s thinking was an important contributing factor to this particularly tragic event.”

The Crown suggested a starting point for a minimum non-parole period was 17 years.

But Justice Fogarty said that sentence “simply cannot be imposed justly” in this case.

Given that Gottermeyer had a previously unblemished record, he believed it was unlikely that he would offend again if his depression was addressed.

“This is conduct out of character. I’m assuming you will recover from your depression over the minimum term of imprisonment,” the judge said.

Gottermeyer left home at 7am on July 11 last year with a large kitchen knife and drove to the woman’s house.

He was let inside where he knocked her to the ground, and stabbed her 12 times in the head, hands, chest, and back, before slashing her throat.

When he was arrested, he said the girl had not seen the attack. He said he closed the kitchen door and left water, biscuits, and a mandarin for the girl before driving home.

The woman’s body was found when her partner came home later that morning to check why she had not arrived at work. He found the daughter crying and upset.

Gottermeyer’s victim and her daughter have been granted permanent name suppression.

Rede Globo estica “Amor à Vida” e ela se torna a trama mais longa das nove

 

O sucesso de “Amor à Vida” vai fazer a trama de Walcyr Carrasco entrar para a história da Globo: será a novela mais longa do horário.

O diretor Mauro Mendonça Filho enviou um e-mail para a equipe avisando que “Amor” terminará no dia 31 de janeiro com 221 capítulos.

Com isso, “Em Família”, de Manoel Carlos, estreia em 3 de fevereiro. Inicialmente, a novela de Walcyr Carrasco deveria terminar no dia 13 de dezembro com 179 capítulos, mesmo número de “Salve Jorge” e “Avenida Brasil”.

Desde “Passione”, que se encerrou com 209 como “Viver a Vida”, a emissora havia pedido tramas menores. “Insensato Coração” e “Fina Estampa” ficaram com 185 capítulos. Mas com o sucesso de “Amor à Vida”, a direção resolveu esticá-la.

O autor, aliás, sempre escreveu novelas longas na Globo. “Alma Gêmea”, que foi ao ar no horário das seis, teve 227 capítulos, e “Caras & Bocas”, das sete, terminou com 232. Assim como “Amor”, “Celebridade”, de 2004, também teve 221.

Antes dela, “O Clone”, de 2002, e “Terra Nostra”, de 2000, tiveram a mesma marca.

Elas podem ser consideradas exceções, já que a partir de 1973 a Globo diminuiu consideravelmente o número de capítulos de suas histórias do horário nobre: a última nessa faixa havia sido “O semideus”, que também terminou com 221. “Irmãos Coragem”, de 1971, foi a mais longa do horário com 328 capítulos.
